Big B

I have heard that the last time I was in Tunisia some of the people hade a nickname for me and that was Big B.
It's a good name if you are an American rap star but not a simple engineer from Sweden.

The picture is from 2003 and then I weight around 92 kg.
Now 2006 after around 18 months of hard work out I weight around 82.

The travel haven't always been fun but needed.
It's quit hard to motivate you self to go to the gym 5-7 day's per week and think what you are eating...

Tunisia Happy Land Park "Dah Dah "

I have been thinking what I can do with my time here in Tunisia.

I went out for a walk and found Tunisia Happy Land Park, but it was close

The park opened 1995 and my guess is that everything in the park are from that time.

So in one-way I'm happy it was closed.....

Saturday 30 September 2006

Another Saturday is soon passed by here in Tunisia.

What have I done today?

I have been out for a short walk this morning.
Then I went to the pool to get some more sun tan... Almost to much.... :=)

When you sit on the balcony with a celtia you start to wonder.

Shouldn't I instead be home in Sweden this cold autumn day sitting in front of the open fire with the girl of my dream?

The question come that I guess everyone is asking now and then.

Have I meet the girl of my dream yet and missed her?
Will I meet her soon or should I start looking for a open position in a monetary instead?
What is the meaning with life and what is my task in it....

Instead of finding the answer I think I go to the gym and run for 8km or so...

Like one of my heroes sings:

Tomorrow is another day.....

Shopping at Careefour 23 September

Today I went to the Careefour to get some supplys that I have missed for a coupple of day's.

The big question then: What could it be?

The answer is easy

The result of the shopping:

6 * Celtia (Same type like Prips Blå, San Miguel)
2 * Chateau Saint Augusting (Red vine, Product of Tunisia)

I just have to tell you about something really good here in Tunisia and that is Harisa
Harisa comes from the Arabic word for "to break into pieces," which is done by pounding hot peppers in a mortar.

Another important thing is that tomorrow starts Ramadaan here in Tunisia.

Pictures from Tunisia...

Here are some pictures from my stay so far.
The first one is a picture on the Hotel Les Berges du Lac Concorde Hotel

The other one is the view from my room.....

I'm sorry for the lack of updates but here comes a summary.
During the summer I have been a couple of weeks in Gothenburg.

The biggest memory was to go to the EM in Athletics in Gothenburg.

The Panama Canal

The Panama Canal is approximately 80 kilometers long between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This waterway was cut through one of narrowest saddles of the isthmus that joins North and South America.

The Canal uses a system of locks -compartments with entrance and exit gates. The locks function as water lifts: they raise ships from sea level (the Pacific or the Atlantic) to the level of Gatun Lake (26 meters above sea level); ships then sail the channel through the Continental Divide.

Each set of locks bears the name of the townsite where it was built: Gatun (on the Atlantic side), and Pedro Miguel and Miraflores (on the Pacific side).

The lock chambers -steps-- are 33.53 meters wide by 304.8 meters long. The maximum dimensions of ships that can transit the Canal are: 32.3 meters in beam; draft -their depth reach- 12 meters in Tropical Fresh Water; and 294.1 meters long (depending on the type of ship).

The water used to raise and lower vessels in each set of locks comes from Gatun Lake by gravity; it comes into the locks through a system of main culverts that extend under the lock chambers from the sidewalls and the center wall.

The narrowest portion of the Canal is Culebra Cut, which extends from the north end of Pedro Miguel Locks to the south edge of Gatun Lake at Gamboa. This segment, approximately 13.7 kilometers long, is carved through the rock and shale of the Continental Divide.

Ships from all parts of the world transit daily through the Panama Canal. Some 13 to 14 thousand vessels use the Canal every year. In fact, commercial transportation activities through the Canal represent approximately 5% of the world trade.

The Canal has a work force of approximately 9 thousand employees and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing transit service to vessels of all nations without discrimination.

Panama City

Here is some picture to give everyone a view how Panama City looks like

The first one is from the roof of where we had all the meetings in. We hade to take the elevator 40 floors and then climb the last 4 floors to get out on the roof.

The second is from the cost line.

Hard Rock Panama

I have only been in Panama for 20 hours now and I love it..
Panama is nice city close to the ocean.
The American influence is obvious and some time it can be to much but I like it.

On the picture above you can see the first place I visited after arriving in Panama City.

Travel to Panama

Then it was time to go to my next stop on my South America tour...
I had to leave Sau Paulo around 10:00 to the airport and had a nice and long trip to Panama City, after 7 hours I arrived in Panama City.

My first impression is that Panama is a huge fan of the USA.

Coffee habits in Brazil and Sweden

The picture above shows the area the people here in the office takes their coffee.
It's a small corridor between the office area and the toilets.
Here you take your Coffee/Expresso and talk to your colleagues.

In Sweden you go to a dedicated area and sit-down with your coffee and colleagues.

What European City Do You Belong In?

You Belong in Milan

Stylish and sophisticated, you want to enjoy a truly European life - away from tourists!
Milan fits you perfectly. Great shopping, high quality food, lots of culture... with very little hype.

Last night I went out for the second night in a row.
It was me and some other colleagues.
The only problem is that no one speaks English in Brazil, there are exemptions but.....

24 Maj 2006 (Del 2)

24 Maj 2006 (My home in Sau Paulo)

23 Maj 2006 ( Sao Paulo/Brasil)

Mukata'a

Not only work....

We also hade some fun....

MTN Office

In South Africa we also went to the MTN office and that was a really nice place....

South Africa

Since the last Update I have been to South Africa and Johannesburg on a Business trip.
The food and the people was nice. South Africa is a country I can recommend to everyone to visit.
